In memoriam-Bob Fretz

While serving as an elected Board of Supervisor, we often disagreed with Bob Fretz. Though most elected officials in this town are very secretive and highly guarded, Bob always took the time to talk with people to explain his position and opinion. Although most Supervisors fade deep into the sunset after their time on the Board, Bob remained actively engaged on many issues including development, ethics and accountability.

We were sorry to hear of Bob Fretz’s passing and hope that God’s grace blesses he and his family.

Just remove Moore and add Forks

Sadly, this is one of those "letters to the editor" where you could easily substitute "Forks Township" in place of "Moore Township" and the theme and reality would be 100% the same :-(

Please check out this "letter to the editor" in today's Morning Call.

We have spoken out on this before; many times in fact, over the years but neither the "local" radio stations or our State or Federal legislators seem to care.

Sadly, like the intersection that does not get a traffic light until there is an awful tragedy, we probably will not get disaster coverage on terrestrial (traditional AM & FM) radio until there is loss of life or a catastrophe that can be linked to a lack of information being given to the citizens of the Lehigh Valley.

Kudos to Emmaus, AGAIN!

Not only does Emmaus have an open government (they actually broadcast their public meetings on their website!) but, they just earned a coveted spot on Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live: Top 100” list!

With a similar population to Forks Township, it must be wonderful to live in a place with such forward-thinking and credible elected leaders.

Congratulations Emmaus, you are a shining example for us all!

Thanks Forks PD, FD and EMS!

While there is much wrong with Forks Township, Tuesday’s storms remind us how lucky we are to have a great Police Force, Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service!

These dedicated and hard-working professionals once again worked tirelessly to protect and serve the residents of Forks Township during the horrific storms that bombarded our humble community.

Thank you to all those who wear the uniform and answer the call!

New reporter needed

With the most recently assigned reporter gone from the scene in Forks Township, we are hoping that the Express-Times (E-T) hires/assigns someone who is independent, not biased and is not aligned with any of the Board of Supervisors.

Tip to the E-T. "Steal" Madeleine Mathias from the Morning Call and give her as much column space and investigative tools as she needs to tell the story and then prepare to win a Pulitzer!
