To re-zone or not to re-zone, that is the question....

A change of zoning is being considered for Uhler Road (Forks/Braden Airport) and Sullivan (Route 115) Trail that among other things would allow for a grocery store at this location. Many people seem to be responding to the emotion of having a competitor to Giant. Others believe that we invested a lot of money, time and resources into a comprehensive plan and that a zoning change now is wrong. Still others believe that there are nefarious reasons for this zoning change as it MAY re-open the call to allow 800+ homes in the Farmland Preservation District and the subsequent build-out to the Poconos. In addition to these points of view, one wonders how this will affect our neighbors, especially in Tatamy and Stockertown.

While we encourage every resident to attend Board of Supervisor meetings to let their feelings be known, if you can’t, or you are not comfortable with public speaking, we implore you contact your elected leaders and let them know how you feel. Their names and phone numbers are listed below, or, you can send them a letter. The address is, 1606 Sullivan Trail, Easton, PA 18040.
